Skegss - Live in Orlando

It’s not often you go to a show and witness multiple groups of people having what must’ve been the best night of their lives, or something close to that. The show didn’t even have to start yet for people to be dancing and singing all over the venue. They came in with the spirit of people who’ve been waiting a really long time for this moment. Skegss brought their USA 2025 tour to The Beacham in Orlando, FL, with the band Twen as support. It’s an understatement to say people just showed up. People came to this show decked in Skegss shirts, beers in hand–

singing, dancing, crowdsurfing, moshing. It genuinely was a sight to see.

Before openers Twen took the stage, I peered around the venue to observe the vibe of the room. It seemed the crowd enjoyed the pre-show setlist, as they all screamed lyrics at the top of their lungs. I knew if the crowd was this hyped for a pre-show setlist, this show would be insane. The openers, Twen, took the stage, opening their set with One Stop Shop (For A Fading Revolution), a track off their 2022 album One Stop Shop. I have spent the last few years informing everyone I could about the incredible talent that is Twen. As a long-time fan, I felt so proud to see them absolutely crush it on stage and engage a crowded room into jumping along

with their music. If any band needs to be on your radar for 2025, it is Twen. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.

Skegss took the stage right after 9 o’clock, and the crowd instantly started swaying and jumping. Water rained over our heads as people threw their water bottles over the crowd, causing a sort of indoor rain situation. The show continued with Skegss performing a mix of new and old songs, including a few from Rehearsal, my personal favorite release of theirs. By the time they started that western-themed guitar riff at the beginning of Down To Ride, the crowd reached a certain level that took the show to another universe. It surprisingly took 7 songs for crowdsurfing to kick off, but once it did, people were flying over the crowd one by one. It’s interesting to observe a pit from afar, seeing everyone jump in unison as if they were all connected. Once the show concluded, I watched as fans poured out of the venue, with sweaty faces, big smiles, and a faint scent of beer in the air.

Skegss’ USA tour has concluded already, but they will begin their U.K. and Europe tour on April 22nd in Southampton and will continue touring all over the world throughout the year.
