BENEE - Live in Minneapolis
It was the perfect night for a concert at the Varsity Theater. I could tell fans were excited because people were already lining up outside before the doors even opened, eager to get inside and secure their spots for the night.
The show was part of the Particles Tour, which follows the release of Ur an Angel I'm Just Particles, the second album from BENEE. I felt like the setlist really highlighted this new era of her music, and it was great hearing so many of the newer songs live.
BENEE opened the night with “Sad Boii,” and I immediately felt the energy in the room shift. The crowd was fully engaged from the start. Throughout the night we heard several songs from the new album, including “Cinnamon,” “Demons,” “Sad Boii,” and “Doomsday.” I loved seeing how the crowd reacted to the newer material, especially when people started singing along.
The stage visuals added a lot to the experience. I kept noticing how the lighting constantly shifted throughout the set, turning the stage into a rainbow of colors. Pinks, blues, greens, and yellows washed over the stage as the show went on, which gave the performance a bright and playful atmosphere that fit BENEE’s style really well.
I also loved the energy BENEE brought to the stage. She moved around constantly, interacting with the crowd and clearly having a great time performing. I felt like the audience matched that energy right back. Everyone around me was dancing, singing, and fully locked into the show.
One of my favorite moments happened when a fan handed BENEE a drawing of her during the set. I have to give major credit to that fan because the drawing was incredible. BENEE took a moment to admire it, signed the drawing, and handed it back to him. It felt like a really genuine interaction that made the show feel even more personal.
Overall, I felt like the night captured everything that makes a live show special. Between the colorful stage, the energy from both BENEE and the crowd, and hearing songs from her newest album live, the night felt fun, vibrant, and memorable from start to finish.
